Believe and Achieve

We all have goals. Some lofty and some daily. Maybe you want to be an epic streamer, or maybe you want to drop a few quaran-pounds for that new summer beach bod. Whatever your goals may be, there is a formula for success that works for any goal you set for yourself.

Be Realistic

Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t dream big or aim for the moon. You 100% should go big! That said, take realistic steps on your journey to the moon. Perhaps break your end goal into manageable phases ensuring many wins to celebrate along the way. Punctuate your journey with clear, definable milestones related to your end objective. Here is an awesome acronym to help set SMART goals.

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Relevant
  • Time Bound

Get SMART with your goals and define your future.

Set Your Own Goals

Look, nobody knows what you’re capable of achieving better than yourself. Set goals YOU can believe in and achieve. Share your idea with supportive friends. You never know who may assist you in getting where you want to be. Ask yourself the tough questions.

  • Do I want this enough to stay motivated?
  • Is this sustainable/achievable?
  • Will this interfere with other goals/responsibilities?
  • What is the damage/fallout if I fail?
  • Why is this important to me?

Make A Plan

Okay, so now you’re ready! Making a plan is often overlooked. Many times we see people exclaim “I want such and such to happen” and that is as far as their planning goes. Hindsight being 20/20 perhaps that person could have done more to realistically solidify their goals. I recommend writing your plan down or at the very least sharing it with a friend to help keep you on track. Having a tangible representation of the steps towards your objective is a powerful motivator. Crossing out each step as it is accomplished can be the impetus towards achieving the next step as well as a reason to celebrate. You can write reminders on your calendar to motivate yourself to check progress as well. Whatever it takes to succeed!

Upon Special Request

Sometimes we get special requests here at Sanctuary. This one goes out to Cedious Maximus, who in typical nerd fashion, has requested a passage from LOTR be represented in the article. We got you Ced!

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”~Gandalf

“It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not.”~Gandalf

“Fly you fools” ~Gandalf

Ya know what? They kinda fit the theme don’t ya think? Good call Ced! lol
